Description from the seller

Napoleon III Era Jewelry Box – Brass and Beveled Glass

Elegant Napoleon III era jewelry box, made of brass and richly decorated with scrolling leaves and finely worked botanical motifs.

The box features a rectangular shape with rounded corners, edged by delicate beaded borders, and rests on four small ball feet. The lid is adorned with a beveled clear glass, revealing the interior of the box.

The interior has preserved its original red/burgundy velvet cushion, tufted and compartmentalized by several small cushions, intended for the presentation and protection of the jewelry.

The front closure is adorned with a small spherical button. The various views also show the hinges and the underside of the box, allowing appreciation of its construction and patina.

The whole possesses a beautiful antique patina, with some signs of use, marks and small imperfections of time, visible notably on brass and glass. These signs should be considered part of its antique condition and authenticity.
