Description from the seller
Breton wooden jewelry box with rich woodcarving – France, circa the 1960s
Charming Breton wooden box from around the 1960s, made in dark stained wood and featuring richly carved decorations. The model is inspired by traditional Breton furniture art, recognizable by its sturdy character, folkloric motifs and artisanal appearance.
The front is adorned with a central floral motif, framed by geometric and stylized ornaments. The lid is also beautifully crafted with an openworked rosette motif, giving the box a light and decorative appearance. In the center of the rosette there is a star-shaped detail.
The box stands on four small ball feet and opens with two metal hinges. The interior is simple and practical, making it suitable for storing jewelry, letters, small collectibles, or other personal belongings.
