Description (EN)
Before the world awakens — there is this. The first light of dawn spreads softly over vast green prairies of the Indonesian highlands, gilding the dew-kissed leaves and painting layers of vivid green, warm gold, and tranquil blue across the valley. The air is still. The earth breathes.
In this 100×120 cm mixed-media work of unusual serenity, Jono Sugiartono captures the precise atmosphere of early morning in the Java highlands — surfaces rich and textured, built with organic jute fibers and oil that evoke fertile soil and the slow, generous waking of nature. Human silhouettes move in gentle harmony with the earth — embodying the soundanaise philosophy of Silih Asah, Silih Asih, Silih Asuh: the mutual care bond between humans and nature that has supported all life for millennia.
The materials carry the geological and botanical memory of the landscape they depict. This work cannot be reproduced — the exact quality of this morning light, captured in this specific moment of creation, will never be replicated again.
Why this work is a rare opportunity:
Jono Sugiartono today enters the most accomplished phase of his career — in exclusive collaboration with Abstract Art Gallery, Riga. Morning in the Green Fields belongs to his earlier period. It is an opportunity to acquire a work by a master on the rise internationally at a still accessible price.
