Description from the seller

Oluce Atollo 237 – Vico Magistretti – Opaline Glass – Medium

An iconic Atollo table lamp, designed by Vico Magistretti for Oluce in 1977.

This is the medium Atollo 237, executed in beautiful opaline blown Murano glass. With its unmistakable composition of cylinder, cone and hemisphere, the Atollo is considered one of the great icons of 20th-century Italian lighting design.

Magistretti’s Atollo completely reinterpreted the traditional table lamp, reducing it to pure geometric forms while creating an exceptionally sculptural object. The design was awarded the prestigious Compasso d’Oro in 1979 and has since become an internationally recognised symbol of Italian design.

The opaline glass version produces a particularly beautiful, soft and diffused light. When illuminated, the entire lamp takes on a warm, almost sculptural glow, while remaining an elegant design object when switched off.
