Description from the seller
Twin-cylinder vacuum pump from circa 1900. Signed: 'E. Leybold's Nachfolger, Coeln Rhein'
The instrument consists of two thick glass cylinders mounted vertically on a walnut base (47 x 30 x 50 cm) and equipped with brass gear wheels and a brass crank. The pistons are connected to each other by a gear and two geared rods, and a platform that is connected to the pistons via a central hole.
The vacuum cylinders are connected to a plate with a large dome at the other end of the base. In the middle of the base there is the mounted (damaged) mercury manometer for vacuum measurement. The device is in very good condition and can still be used for various experiments.
N.B. The mercury manometer is damaged at the top (see detail photo).
Both pistons are still stuck.
PLEASE NOTE! THE PUMP CAN ONLY BE PICKED UP! Or, on special request - by appointment - can be shipped.
