This model is an advanced version of the original DW-5000, featuring a robust metal case and screw-back design. Despite the full metal case and screw-back design, which make it difficult to receive radio waves and thus disadvantageous for reception, it also incorporates Multi-Band 6, which receives standard radio waves from six stations worldwide. While strongly inheriting the DNA of the original model, it pursues even greater toughness. The metal case and screw-back are treated with DLC (diamond-like carbon) to enhance wear resistance. Furthermore, the screw-back is mirror-finished to create a sense of luxury. In addition, the resin band uses soft urethane for a comfortable fit. This is a meticulously crafted model that combines the original G-SHOCK design born in 1983 with advanced technology and an even higher level of quality.
