AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Antique heavy cast-iron dough, stamping roller with a floral motif.

Authentic, heavy cast-iron form roller with an elevated decorative floral motif and a driven axle with a spline groove. Originating from the artisanal bakery or confectionery (circa 1900–1930).

A remarkable and robust piece of historic artisanal equipment. This cast-iron shaping drum was used at the beginning of the 20th century in industrial or professional bakery machines (such as cookie stamping machines) to provide dough, butter, or confectionery with a uniform floral or doily pattern.

The roller has a hollow cast-iron construction with four spokes on the inside and is equipped with a solid through axle with a spline groove. This type of axle was directly connected to the gear system of a machine. Due to the substantial weight of no less than 10 kilograms, the roller automatically applied the desired pressure to press patterns sharply into the material.

The object is in a beautiful, authentic condition with a characteristic patina and light signs of oxidation, giving it a very appealing and rustic appearance.

Extremely suitable as a decorative eye-catcher in an industrial interior, hospitality venue, storefront display, or as a supplement to a collection of historic bakery equipment.
