The lids of these smaller boxes are finely inlaid with mother-of-pearl (or bone) suit symbols representing Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs. These compartments were traditionally used to store gaming counters (fishes) for games like whist or bridge. The central compartment holds a modern illustrated deck of Kings & Queens of England playing cards by the Heritage Playing Card Company.Condition & Mechanics:The box comes with its original brass lock mechanism and includes its functional, working key.
