Unfortunately I could not find an "Audio" CD-R or CD-RW disc (with SCMS licensing code), and I was unable to test the recording function.

It was one of Philips' consumer CD recorders designed specifically for recording audio onto CD-R Audio and CD-RW Audio discs, while also functioning as a high-quality CD player. As one of the inventors of the Compact Disc format, Philips incorporated its own recording technology into this model, making it a popular choice for home music recording and vinyl archiving.

Unlike a computer CD burner, the CDR570 is designed for hi-fi systems and allows recording directly from analog or digital sources.
