Description from the seller
Elegant chest of drawers in Louis Philippe style, dating to around 1900, characterized by harmonious lines and refined veneering with a spectacular bookmatched grain, which enhances the natural wood pattern on all the fronts of the drawers.
The piece features four ample drawers, made with traditional dovetail joints, a testament to careful artisanal construction. The interior is solid wood and preserves the natural patina of time.
The rounded side columns are enriched by elegant carved elements, while brass hardware completes the ensemble with sobriety and elegance.
The chest is topped with an original gray marble top, perfectly in line with the style of the furniture and ideal both aesthetically and functionally.
The piece presents in good conservative condition, compatible with its age. The structure is solid, stable, and the drawers slide regularly.
Only a delicate conservative cleaning intervention has been carried out, aimed at removing surface dirt in full respect of the original patina. A possible specialist cleaning could further enhance its appearance.
Conditions:
The marble top shows some cracks in the lower part, not visible when viewing the piece from the front, corresponding to the rounded front corners. Such cracks do not compromise the stability of the top and are a normal sign of time, as documented in the photographs.
Collection:
The lot must be collected in Cavagnolo (Turin), Italy.
The buyer must present themselves with a suitable transport and with all materials necessary for packaging and protecting the furniture (bubble wrap, blankets, straps or other appropriate materials).
I will be happy to provide assistance during the handling and loading of the chest onto the buyer’s vehicle.
