Rare ceramic bas-relief of a Madonna's face, Igni, Turin, late 1930s. Epigone of Lenci.

In this listing, an ancient bas-relief molded by slip casting of a Madonna's face is presented, decorated with semilucent polychrome enamels.

The bas-relief was produced at the end of the 1930s by the Igni manufactory of Turin, founded in 1936 by Lionello Franchini.

Collaborating artists: Important artists and ceramists already active at the famous Manifattura Lenci worked there, including Camillo Ghigo, Ines Grande, Claudia Formica, Otto Maraini, Abele Jacopi and Giovanni Grande. Production: It produced both secular subjects (such as female figures and animals) and works of religious and devotional character (e.g., Madonna faces in bas-relief, plaques and bas-reliefs with polychrome enamels).
