Monumental Pirkenhammer & Ernst Wahliss Wien Service - 91 Pieces - Cobalt Blue and Gilt Gold - Porcelain - Austria/Bohemia - 1893-1915

Splendid, rare and monumental combined service for grand ceremonial use (table, tea and coffee) comprising 91 pieces. Made in fine ivory-white porcelain, it features a rich classical cobalt blue decoration outlined with elegant gold filigree and borders. The design is distinguished by the fluted bodies of the service pieces and the gracefully lobed edges of the dinnerware.

The pieces were manufactured by the renowned Bohemian factory Pirkenhammer (Fischer & Mieg) and distributed through the prestigious and exclusive Vienna luxury department store Ernst Wahliss. On the bottom are clearly visible marks certifying authenticity and provenance of the set: the black inscription "Porzellanwarenhaus Ernst Wahliss, Wien" and the blue underglaze overglaze mark with the two crossed hammers and ribbon of Pirkenhammer. The marks allow dating the service precisely to the period between 1893 and 1915.

The services are in good condition; the vast majority of the plates, large serving pieces and trays are structurally perfect, free from cracks or chips. For maximum collectible transparency, the following details are noted:

One chip on the spout of the teapot.
Normal, physiological wear of the gilt on the rims of some pieces, consistent with age and historic use (particularly on the 12 small plates and the 34 cm small tray).
No further crazing or breakage detected.
