Neoclassical mantel clock in Carrara marble with mythological figures, dating to 1800–1850, featuring a mechanical movement with one day power reserve and a half-hour strike on a bell.
Description from the seller
Neoclassical clock decorated with Mythological Figures in Carrara White Statuario Marble, featuring one winged figure, probably an angel or a deity, striking a dynamic pose, while another semi-nude seated female figure looks upward. The sculpture rests on a multi-tier rectangular base, also in white marble.
The lower part of the base presents a bas-relief depicting horses and a figure on a chariot, suggesting a classic mythological theme.
The dial, adorned with Roman numerals, is framed by a gilded decoration and is at the center of the sculptural composition. (The mechanism is housed inside).
