A propos de Pierre D'Avesn (1901-1990):
His real name is Pierre Girre. Pierre D'Avesn was a student of François Decorchement at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs. He was hired by Lalique, where he stayed for 10 years. He worked for Daum between 1930 and 1936, where he developed the production of pressed molded glass. He joined the Verlys company in 1937 in the Holophane glass department. After 1945, he is found at the crystal maker Choisy-le-Roi, where he re-edits many of his earlier designs and creates new ones. He remained there until his retirement in 1984. Considered one of the elite glass artists of the Art Deco era, he died in Paris at the age of 90.
