GENERAL:
Mercedes-Benz - 230 SL - 1966 with reading of 47,000 km. The Mercedes-Benz 230 SL (W113), popularly known as the "Pagoda" due to the distinctive concave design of its removable hardtop designed by Paul Bracq, is one of the most iconic and coveted convertibles from the Stuttgart brand. Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963, the 230 SL introduced revolutionary safety advances for the time, such as a rigid passenger cell with deformable zones. This Pagoda 230 with manual transmission and European specification was restored about five years ago with high quality. The car is ready to be enjoyed with a lot of reliability.
BODYWORK AND PAINT:
During the restoration it was painted and has intense shine and hardly any defects, only a small bubble on the rear fender on the driver's side and on one door, which is practically imperceptible in the photo. The undersides are in very good condition, and during the restoration the minimal rust present was treated; it has no signs of significant impact damage and is fully restored.
INTERIOR:
In the restoration it was reupholstered respecting the original materials and as can be seen in the photo reportage, they look practically like new, with no tears and the wood panels are in very good condition; the carpets were also replaced.
MECHANICS:
Mechanically it runs excellently, starts in cold and warm conditions and it completed a 600 km trip with 40 degrees Celsius temperature and functioned perfectly, the gearbox shifts smoothly through all gears.
A complete service has just been done, so there are no pending jobs to be carried out.
