Description from the seller
Armenian copper chandelier with a square base – Ottoman Empire, 19th century
Copper turned and moulded chandelier, resting on a square base with a gadrooned decoration. The baluster shaft bears an inscription engraved in Armenian on the central body, probably a donor’s mark or a short votive formula.
Characteristic production of the Armenian workshops of Anatolia in the Ottoman era, intended for religious use (church or chapel) or Christian domestic use.
The binet is hollowed directly from the mass.
Nice antique patina with verdigris oxidation and wear consistent with age.
No apparent restoration. Wear and small dings visible, with no structural fragility.
An interesting object for its architectural form and for the presence of the Armenian inscription, bearing witness to the Christian community under Ottoman rule.
Photos are an integral part of the object description and complement its presentation. They allow appreciating its condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any bid
The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
