Rare hand-forged axe, 17th–18th century – ground find from the Münsterland
For sale is an original hand-forged axe from the 17th to 18th century. Found as a ground find in the Westphalian region (Münsterland).
The piece is heavily rusted and in correspondingly poor condition; the shape and the typical features are still clearly recognizable. The natural rust patina gives the object a very authentic and antique character.
Such ground finds from this time and region are extremely rare and represent a real rarity. Perfectly suited for collectors of historical weapons, tools, or archaeological finds, and excellent for presentation in a collection or display case.
