Lamp - Putto lamp, patinated metal, circa 1900

Napoleon III style lamp. Metal patinated bronze base with gilding in a revised Louis XVI style, featuring a putto seemingly holding the globe with a brass cord. Round base with lancets and pine cones. Bronze claw with decoration of small acanthus leaves and a curtain tassel. Closed globe in thick opaque exterior glass with a glossy finish bearing a relief motif of large leaves. Electrified fixture with a bayonet-style socket, large-base bulb, modern wiring. In good condition, no cracks, chips, damage, or incidental scratches. No marks or apparent signatures on this lamp. Height about 31 cm, height without the glass about 17 cm. Globe height 16.5 cm. Base diameter about 14.5 cm. Putto height 12.5 cm. Maximum globe diameter 12.5 cm. Total weight nearly 2.2 kg.
