Drexel Heritage - Commode (2) - Wood, Glass, Brass - Chinoiserie | Et Cetera

An exceptional pair of Drexel Heritage side tables or nightstands from the well-known Et Cetera Collection, USA, circa the 1970s.

The two identically designed pieces combine the decorative Chinoiserie style with typical elements of Hollywood Regency design. The black high-gloss lacquered body is embellished with gold-colored floral and geometric decorations. The three drawers of each table feature striking burl veneer fronts and classic brass handles.

The tabletops consist of a decorative burl wood surround with an inlaid dark glass element. Gold-colored accents and the finely executed Chinoiserie decorations on the fronts and legs form an elegant contrast to the black lacquer.
