Tall-Maja is a groundbreaking, pioneering Swedish photobook published in 1967 by photographer Agneta Ekman. The book explores the folklore of "Tall-Maja" (Pine-Maja), a mythical, seductive wood-nymph or forest spirit (known in Swedish lore as the skogsrå). According to legends from the Värmland woodlands, she was a beautiful, elusive creature who bewitched charcoal makers, hunters, and foresters.
