Stunning vintage porcelain figurine of a blue budgerigar, crafted by the renowned Danish porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl (B&G).
The budgerigar is rendered from a design by Svend Jespersen and carries model number 2210. The bird is depicted realistically, perched on a small branch, with beautifully detailed wing and featherwork.
The figurine is produced in Bing & Grøndahl's characteristic underglaze technique. The soft blues, gray-blues, and dark nuances are applied under the glaze, giving the colors a beautiful depth that blends nicely with the glossy porcelain.
On the underside is the original Bing & Grøndahl factory mark with “Kjøbenhavn / Made in Denmark,” together with the model number 2210. Based on this factory mark, this piece can be dated to the period ca. 1952–1957.
