Description from the seller
An elegant Art Deco pressed glass vase, produced by the renowned Belgian glass factory Val Saint Lambert in the 1930s.
This piece is part of the famed 'Luxval' collection. It concerns the iconic and refined model 'Américain', a design by René Delvenne. The sculptural design is characterized by a clean, flaring trumpet shape with a beautiful six-lobed/serrated upper rim, resting on a solid octagonal foot. Vertical ribs accentuate the line work.
Dimensions: With a height of 23 cm, this is the medium size produced for this model. (For comparison: the model was also produced in 19.5 cm and in the large 30 cm.)
Color: Executed in the deep, rich aubergine (or dark purple) color, one of the most valued colors in the Luxval range.
Condition: The object is in excellent, pristine condition. No chips, no cracks, minimal to no signs of use. The pressed seams are tight and the base is free of notable scratches. As is customary with pressed glass production, some glass threads and air bubbles may be visible.
Authenticity & Origin: This is a guaranteed original piece from the Val Saint Lambert Luxval production. The vase is unsigned. Reference: A copy of the original Val Saint Lambert Luxval catalog page, showing model 'Américain' and the three available sizes (including 230 mm), is attached to the photos for verification of model and designer.
A beautiful and representative example of Belgian Art Deco design. The piece is carefully packed and insured for shipping to the winning bidder.
