An early‑20th‑century antique English‑inspired madeira piece with two lower drawers and two upper shelves, made in the United Kingdom, 132 cm high, 66 cm wide and 28 cm deep, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and stains.
Description from the seller
Sideboard. English taste, nineteenth-century inspiration, in mahogany wood, veneered and other woods, rectangular shape and vertical development. Upper top rectangular, slightly projecting, resting on lower body consisting of two stacked drawers, with smooth, symmetric fronts intended for storage. Open upper crow, structured by vertical posts and consisting of two shelves, providing space for displaying books, small decorative objects, or other everyday items. The construction shows a markedly functional conception, combining closed storage spaces with open display surfaces. The architectural design, the verticality of the structure, and the use of mahogany and mahogany veneers recall the English furniture tradition of the nineteenth century, later reinterpreted by the revival production. Mahogany, a wood with a warm tone and grain particularly valued in high-quality furniture, gives the piece a sober and elegant appearance, highlighted by the contrast between the different veneer directions. The decoration is deliberately restrained, favoring the quality and design of the wood over excessive ornamentation. The two lower drawers, combined with the two upper shelves, make the piece versatile, and it could have been used as an auxiliary library, office, living room, or study furniture. The narrow yet relatively deep configuration allows its integration into small spaces, while maintaining substantial storage capacity. By its structure and decorative language, it is a historicist piece with English influence. Good overall condition, showing signs of use compatible with its age. Dimensions: 132 × 66 × 28 cm.
