Description from the seller
CORUM BUBBLE CHRONOGRAPH WATCH (REF. 396.150.20): We present at auction one of the most iconic and bold watches of contemporary Swiss watchmaking. Launched in 2000 under the direction of Severin Wunderman, the Corum Bubble shattered all molds with its design inspired by experimental diving watches of the 1960s.
The undisputed centerpiece of this piece is its monumental 8 mm-thick domed sapphire crystal. This crystal not only offers exceptional resistance but also acts as a magnifying lens, creating fascinating visual distortions of the dial depending on the viewing angle.
The solid 45 mm polished stainless steel case houses a high-precision Swiss quartz chronograph movement. The black dial features luminescent hands and indices, three silver sub-dials for time recording, a date window at 6 o’clock, and the unmistakable stylized Arabic numerals of the collection. The caseback is secured with screws and guarantees water resistance to 200 meters (660 ft).
Condition Report (Forensic Review)
Prospective bidders are asked to read the description of the condition carefully and view the photo gallery:
Case and Crystal: In magnificent aesthetic condition. The highly polished steel shows only the faintest micro-scratches typical of occasional, careful use. The massive sapphire crystal is immaculate, with no dents or scratches.
Movement: The quartz caliber operates correctly, as do the chronograph pushers and the reset to zero.
Bracelet and Clasp (Important): The original steel deployant clasp functions perfectly. The exterior leather strap looks good, but the interior lining is severely cracked, peeled, and deteriorated with time (a very common wear pattern on materials from this series). It is fully functional, but the future buyer may wish to replace the strap in the medium term. (Dispatched without original box or papers).
Shipment
The item will be carefully protected and securely packaged, with insured shipping and an international tracking number.
A fantastic opportunity to acquire a cult classic of Swiss watchmaking, famous for its radical aesthetics and unmatched wrist presence!
