Description from the seller
Mid-Century Liquor Service (1950s) & Rare Monogrammed Bottle Attributable to S.A.L.I.R. Murano (1960s) - Glass/Crystal - Excellent Condition (Mint)
Exclusive vintage bar/lounge lot consisting of two pieces of fine artisanal craftsmanship, both in impeccable condition (MINT): no chipping, fraying, opacification, or signs of wear, including bottle collars and stoppers.
1. Complete Liquor/Cordial Service (1950s - Art Deco / Transitional Style)
• Composition: 1 bulbous bottle (flattened drop-shaped flask) with original spherical stopper and 6 coordinated goblet-style glasses with short stems.
• Decoration: Refined white sandblasting on two sides depicting eighteenth-century gallant scenes (Lady and Knight). The other two sides feature a complex geometric diamond-cut pattern with 16 stamp-like incisions and frames of stylized floral branches. The decoration on the glasses masterfully conveys the theme with lines, dots, and pine needle motifs.
• Closure: Perfect airtight fit "glass on glass" thanks to the original mouth and stopper grinding.
• Technical Data: Light, ringing crystal glass. Bottle: H 21 cm (base Ø 6 cm, max width ~10.5 cm) - weight 269 g. Glasses: H 6.5 cm (Ø 4 cm) - weight 34 g each. Total set weight: 473 g.
2. Rare Monogrammed Collection Bottle - MuranoCraft (Early 1960s)
• Provenance and History: Unique piece of Venetian glass art from a family inheritance. Made on commission in Murano as a personalized gift with the monogram "I C" (the grandmother’s name and surname, born and lived in Murano).
• Craftsmanship and Style: The geometric design combined with floral details, the deep carved quality, and the characteristic "rice grain" motifs strongly attribute the piece to the prestigious engraving school of S.A.L.I.R. of Murano (Studio Ars Labor Industrie Riunite) or to Nason’s high-end production known for such personalized commissions on Murano in the early 1960s.
• Technique and Decoration: Transparent, massive, heavy Murano art glass. The front features the initials "I C" embedded in a rich frame of milled dots and rice-grain carved motifs, surrounded by vegetal bands and 4 flowers. The sides and back are entirely covered by a dense pattern of irregular diamonds (following the curve of the glass body), floral arches, and botanical details incised on a wheel.
• Closure: Large stopper shaped like a miniature bottle (H 9 cm) equipped with the original era-protective rubber seal for a perfect airtight seal.
• Technical Data: H 18 cm without the stopper (24 cm with stopper). Width 15 cm. Rectangular base with rounded corners (8 x 6 cm). Substantial weight: 764 g.
The lot will be packaged with the utmost professional care to ensure safe transport of the glass.
