Maurizio Santoro (also credited as 'Masan') was an Italian comics artist active from the early 1970s through the 1990s, working on Italian pulp and erotic comics including the western series Kociss (Editrice Ellepi, 1972-1973), Orror, Storie Nere and Hard International. His career start on Kociss in 1972 lines up with the year on this piece.

This lot is 14 pages, each 50x35cm, from a 1972 Mandrake 'Superalbo' - the long-running Italian reprint series (numbered into the hundreds) published by Fratelli Spada, which regularly included original Italian back-up stories by local artists alongside the syndicated Falk/Davis dailies.
