Yves Offret (1946–2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret dedicated his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, based in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of a careful pictorial exploration of the landscapes, changing light, and atmospheric qualities of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work attracted an audience receptive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favored an intimate painting, where nature and scenes of life transform into evocative, serene expressions.
Dying in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet yet sincere body of work, bearing witness to an artist's attachment to his homeland and the simple beauty of daily life.
