Description from the seller
Introduction
This is a Seiko Precision 21-jewel open-face pocket watch, reference 6110-0010, featuring a crisp white dial with bold Arabic numerals, a central seconds hand, and a subsidiary seconds register at the lower centre, with 'SECOND SETTING' printed beneath. The exterior caseback is engraved with Japanese characters and a wheel-motif emblem, and the inner caseback lid is stamped ACRP, 6110-0010, serial 291162, Japan. The manual-winding movement, caliber 6110A, is visible with the caseback opened and runs well.
Historical / Era context
The Seiko Precision open-face pocket watch in the 6110-series belongs to Seiko's long tradition of high-grade open-face timekeepers built to exacting standards, carrying 21 jewels and a second-setting function that allows the seconds hand to be zeroed to a time signal for precise synchronisation. The engraved wheel emblem and Japanese kanji on the exterior caseback indicate institutional provenance, though no JNR railway bureau mark is present on this example. The ACRP code stamped inside the caseback denotes a white base-metal plating mark. The caliber 6110A is a robust manual-winding movement produced by Seiko in Japan.
Condition
The watch is running and keeping good time. The watch was checked lying flat (dial up) after a full wind. This is a spot check at the time of listing; as a vintage mechanical watch the rate in actual wear varies with position and winding state, and long-term accuracy is not guaranteed. As a vintage timepiece it may benefit from a service.
Case: The case shows scattered fine scratches and light surface wear across the bezel rim and case band, consistent with normal use. The ACRP white base-metal plating retains most of its finish, with some wear visible at the high-contact edges.
Dial: The white dial is clean and highly legible, with strong, even printing on all numerals and dial text. There is no notable staining or damage to the dial surface.
Crystal: The crystal is present and the dial reads clearly through it. There are light surface marks on the crystal from handling.
Movement: The watch is running. The caliber 6110A manual-winding movement, signed SEIKO 6110A JAPAN 21 JEWELS, is visible with the caseback opened. The movement presents with clean plates and bright jewels, and winds smoothly via the crown.
Accessories: No box, papers, or chain are included. The watch is offered as shown.
