Travel perfume flacon dating from the second half of the 19th century, with a crystal body and a finely engraved 14 ct gold mount in Victorian/Napoléon III style.

Faceted cut crystal travel perfume bottle – 4 kt gold mount – 19th century
Elegant travelling perfume bottle dating from the second half of the 19th century, of a slightly tapered rectangular shape.
The body is made of crystal or thick glass finely cut with long vertical facets alternating with geometric motifs. The neck receives a finely engraved gold mount, finished with a hinged articulated cap.
The opening mechanism reveals still its small inner glass stopper, removable, designed to ensure the bottle’s sealing.
The piece is kept in its original travel case, bound in black leather and lined on the inside with red/pink velvet, precisely shaped to fit the bottle.
A beautiful toiletry and travel object characteristic of the refined taste of the Victorian/Napoleon III era.
Condition: good overall given its age. Signs of use and wear to the case and its interior lining. The mount shows patina and gilding wear. Small inner glass stopper preserved. See photographs for detailed condition.
