Description from the seller
Splendid Kodak Eastman No. 4 Cartridge Camera Model E, one of the most iconic bellows cameras produced by Eastman Kodak between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The model was marketed between 1897 and 1907 and is today highly sought after by collectors of historic photography.
This version is particularly interesting because it carries an original red leather bellows, a variant decidedly less common than the more widespread black or brown bellows, which makes it even more fascinating and exclusive for a collection.
Esthetic conditions
- Excellent overall condition for its age.
- Exterior coating well preserved.
- Red bellows in excellent cosmetic condition.
- Normal signs of aging compatible with an antique item.
Optics
- Lens in good condition.
- No haze visible.
- No fungus.
- No lens separation.
- Normal presence of slight internal dust due to age.
Viewfinder
- In good condition.
- Slight speckling on the mirror, typical of the era.
Shutter and mechanics
- Shutter functional.
- Opening and closing of the bellows regular.
- The main mechanical parts are operational.
Dimensions
- About 21 × 16 × 9 cm
Beautiful display piece, ideal for collectors of antique cameras, analog photography enthusiasts, or as a vintage-charm decorative element.
