Clam Clam - S-464 TRIDACNA SQUAMOSA

Beautiful, two-toned Tridacna squamosa, commonly known as the ribbed giant clam and the scaly clam, is one of many large native clam species on shallow coral reefs in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean. It is distinguished by large, leaf-like, ribbed edges of the shell, called “scutes,” and a byssal opening, which is small compared to other members of the Tridacnidae subfamily. Normal mantle coloration ranges from browns and purples to greens and yellows arranged in elongated, linear or spotted patterns. Dimensions - 130/135/195mm. Shell sold without a stand. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
