Description from the seller
Bulgaria. 100 Leva. 1937. Boris III (1918-1943)
- Value: 100 Leva.
- Reign: Boris III (1918-1943).
- Year: 1937.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: БОРИСЪ III ЦАРЬ НА БЪЛГАРИТѢ (Boris III, Tsar of the Bulgars). Reverse: 100 ЛЕВА · 1937, with wheat ears, botanical branches and national ornaments.
- Grading: AU58 (NGC).
100 Leva silver coin minted during the reign of Boris III, one of the most important rulers of modern Bulgaria. The obverse features the czar's portrait looking to the left, rendered in a realistic and sober style that reflects the official aesthetic of the interwar Europe. The reverse shows the denomination 100 Leva and the date 1937 in a decorative composition framed by wheat ears and botanical motifs, symbols of prosperity and agricultural development. The piece retains much of its original mint lustre, with sharp reliefs and only light wear at the highest points of the design, consistent with its grade AU58. The fields present an attractive and uniform appearance, with discreet circulation marks barely perceptible. This issue belongs to a relatively stable period of the Kingdom of Bulgaria before World War II and constitutes one of the most representative silver denominations of Boris III's reign.
