Brass jewellery box with an interior mirror, in Antique Louis XVI style, dating to 1930–1940, measuring 14 × 6 × 8 cm, gold-coloured, origin Spain, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
A jewelry box from the first half of the 20th century that interprets the Louis XV style from a refined, domestic decorative sensibility, where classical geometry and ornamental accents combine with warm materials and rich contrasts. The metal framework, crafted in a soft golden tone, features a neoclassical-inspired fretwork, with small scrolls and straight lines that evoke the clarity and order typical of the style.
The lid, lined with red velvet, adds a touch of intimate theatricality: that deep red that dialogues with the gold and makes the piece an object of immediate presence. In the center stands a metallic medal, conceived as a decorative emblem, which acts as a focal point and reinforces the Louis XV aesthetic with its badge-like or cameos aura.
When the box is opened, an interior mirror appears, a typical detail of jewelry boxes of the era, designed for the daily ritual of personal adornment. The interior, also lined in red velvet, creates a warm, enveloping atmosphere, perfect for safeguarding small pieces with a touch of discreet luxury.
The whole sits on curved feet, elevating the box and giving it an almost stage-like presence, as if it were a miniature piece of furniture. The front lock completes the design with a gesture both functional and decorative.
A piece that combines ornamentation, elegance, and craftsmanship, ideal for a collection, decoration, or everyday use with historic charm.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
