Antique, richly decorated desk organizer / writing box – Historicism – late 19th / early 20th century. Probably a stamp organizer.

Exceptionally decorative antique desk organizer / writing box – stamp organizer, presumably from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The piece impresses with its highly intricate relief decoration featuring acanthus leaves, floral ornaments, tendrils and volutes. On the lid there is a central ornamental depiction with a vase and two bird-like figures.

The four decoratively designed feet emphasize the object's regal character.

The removable upper part has five separate compartments, which could be used to store writing utensils, small office supplies, stamps, or other small items. The right screw is not original.

The object is made of metal and has an attractive aged brown-bronze patina. Inside, some gold-colored metal surfaces are visible. The exact metal composition has not been professionally tested and is therefore not guaranteed to be bronze.

Condition:Overall good antique condition for its age with noticeable age- and wear-related traces. Present are, among others, patina, discolorations, light oxidation traces, and minor signs of use. The photos are part of the description and should be carefully examined before purchase.
