Description from the seller
Refined Macau porcelain set consisting of a decorative teapot and a delicate egg-shell porcelain cup with saucer.
The teapot is made in the Famille Rose style, recognizable by its rich polychromy, Eastern scenes and elaborate floral motifs, inspired by traditional export Chinese porcelain. It features a top wicker handle and highly detailed enamel decoration.
The cup and saucer are crafted in fine translucent egg-shell porcelain and stand out for being hand-painted, with delicate floral motifs and birds in vivid colors. The base bears the mark “Fabricado em Macau.” Based on the style, the mark “Fabricado em Macau,” the decoration, and the type of porcelain, I would place the pieces roughly between:
Late 1960s to 1970s for the egg-shell cup and saucer.
1960s–1970s also for the Famille Rose teapot.
The important detail is precisely the inscription in Portuguese “Fabricado em Macau,” very typical of export-oriented production during the Portuguese administration of Macau, especially between 1950 and 1980.
Moreover:
Egg-shell porcelain enjoyed a huge tourist and export boom in the 60s–70s.
The Famille Rose decoration style of the teapot closely matches decorative reproductions from that era.
The handle is also very characteristic of pieces exported in the 70s.
A very decorative and elegant set, ideal for collectors of Oriental porcelain, vintage Asian pieces, or lovers of Macau-made Chinese handcrafted porcelain.
Overall condition good, appropriate for its age. The teapot spout shows wear/restoration visible at the tip (see photographs).
Contents:
1 Famille Rose style teapot
1 hand-painted egg-shell porcelain cup
1 matching saucer
Origin: Macau
Material: Fine enameled porcelain
