Dutch steel five-slat bench in mid-century modern style, 70 cm wide, 37 cm deep and 29 cm high, dating to 1950–1960, in good vintage condition with minor signs of age and small stains.
Description from the seller
Vintage steel slat bench – Dutch design, 1950s/60s
Description
A special and rare vintage steel slat bench, presumably from the Netherlands and dating from the 1950s–1960s.
The bench consists of five parallel steel slats on a simple and characteristic geometric steel base. The design is ultra-minimalist: straight lines, clear proportions, and a construction in which functionality is fully central.
The compact size makes this piece especially suitable as a bench, footstool, low side table, or decorative object.
The design shows clear affinity with Dutch modernist furniture design from the period, including the work of Martin Visser, but the item is not offered here as a documented Visser design.
A special piece for collectors and enthusiasts of Dutch postwar design and industrially designed furniture. Weight is around 10 to 15 kilograms.
Dimensions
* Width: approx. 70 cm
* Depth: approx. 37 cm
* Height: approx. 29 cm
