Description from the seller

1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500 – Restomod.

The car has been completely rebuilt , new modern paint, featuring an overhauled engine , new oversize pistons, modern cooling sistem with electrical fans, a modernized electrical system , electronic ignition, and an interior with genuine leather in Porsche Carrera red. Heated seats and rollover protection, new soft top; it is equipped with custom hand made tubeless wheels with central lock. It uses new, modern-spec parts and runs perfectly in any weather. I have all the invoices from the build, as well as the technical manuals for the upgrades. I have all the photos from the begining of the project

BODY AND PAINT

The car was sandblasted down to the bare metal—both the body and the chassis. It was painted five years ago using a Mercedes metallic color code. The paintwork looks perfect; there are a few minor scratches, but nothing that a polish wouldn't remove. The paint has not yet been polished. The body is insulated on the inside with STP sheeting.

TECHNICAL CONDITION

New, upgraded braking system with ventilated discs and Kevlar pads; All under-car bushings and joints are new and made of polyurethane, including the steering rack.new adjustable Koni Classic suspension; modern tubeless wire wheels with center-lock; new tires.
The engine is completely rebuilt as new, featuring oversized high-compression pistons and rings, a new timing system, and a new alternator and starter; new Revotech electric cooling system; modern "123 Ignition" electronic ignition with 16 advance curves; modern Facet fuel pump with pressure regulator and a modern electrical system with fuses and relays.New Weber DCOE 45 carburetor, dyno-tuned, including service and tuning manuals and a jet kit to suit any setup requirements.

The stainless steel exhaust system—running from front to back—is manufactured in the UK by Phoenix Exhaust and features a mounting point for a lambda sensor for tuning purposes.

The car is practically new; it has covered 2,600 km since being rebuilt and has just finished its break-in period. Oil changes were performed at 500, 1.500, and 2.500 km using Motul 300V oil. It drives excellently in any weather.

INTERIOR CONDITION

The interior is insulated with STP foil; new carpeting with two sets of custom floor mats. Modern, heated seats with rollover protection; modern Smiths Magnolia dashboard gauges; new, modern LED on/off switches. All upholstery is new, made of genuine leather in Porsche Carrera Red with ceramic coatting, a tool kit made of the same leather, as well as a travel bag—also made of the same leather and featuring the same stitching. New mohair soft top.

DOCUMENTATION

The car is registered in Romania as a historic vehicle; it comes with a certificate of authenticity from the British Museum and the original factory photograph. It includes a repair manual, the user manuals for the carburetor and electronic ignition system, and all invoices for parts purchased for the car.

PLEASE NOTE

The car will be ready for pickup starting September 11th.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
