Description from the seller

An interesting oil on panel belonging to the Spanish school of the 20th century, executed in a clearly Post-Impressionist language, in which the construction of the landscape is articulated through a loose, direct brushstroke with a markedly material character.

The work stands out for a subjective interpretation of nature, distant from a strictly academic representation. The artist organizes the composition through blocks of color and a visible brushstroke, giving special importance to light, atmosphere, and chromatic vibration.

The pictorial treatment reveals a clear debt to currents derived from Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, especially in the way of simplifying forms and structuring space through chromatic relationships. The pictorial matter takes on its own protagonism, contributing dynamism and a notable sense of spontaneity.

The palette, rich and balanced, combines different tonalities with a more expressive than descriptive intent. The result is a composition of great visual freshness, in which the landscape becomes a vehicle to explore light and color.

The work is situated within the tradition of 20th-century Spanish landscape painting, a period in which numerous artists reinterpreted the innovations of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism from regional and personal sensibilities, giving rise to a very varied production with great plastic richness.

The piece appears signed, although the handwriting does not currently allow secure identification of the author, so it is prudently catalogued as an illegible signature.

It is a work of good artistic quality and decorative appeal, especially interesting for its confident execution, the richness of the pictorial surface, and its language fully linked to the pictorial modernity of the 20th century.

Condition: appreciable in the photographs. The work shows the signs and alterations typical of its age.

The work is framed.

The frame is offered as a gift along with the work, with no commercial value. For this reason, any possible damage or deterioration that could occur to the frame during transport may not be the subject of a claim or compensation.

For shipments outside the European Union, additional costs for customs, taxes, or import duties may be incurred, which will be the buyer's responsibility and will depend on the legislation of the destination country.
