Based on the MTG-B2000—which combines a carbon fiber-reinforced resin monocoque case with metal components—this model incorporates carbon fiber into the bezel to further reduce weight. The carbon fiber bezel is created by laminating carbon fiber sheets and glass fiber sheets to form a plate-shaped base material through hot pressing, which is then machined to shape. The MTG-B2000YBD features a carbon bezel frame on the side of the watch. Compared to stainless steel, this results in a significant reduction in weight, with the bezel frame being approximately 77% lighter. The top layer of carbon sheets on the bezel frame is reinforced by overlapping the sheets so they wrap around the sides at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions, while durability is further enhanced by wrapping carbon sheets around the lugs in a cylindrical shape. The glass fiber layer features red—G-SHOCK’s brand color—as an accent.
