AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful, in perfect condition, beautifully colored, very large XXXL shell Charonia Tritonis - the colloquial name trumpet Triton or giant Triton, this is a species of a very large sea snail, a mollusk of the sea snail family Charoniidae, tritons. It is one of the largest mollusks on a coral reef. The shell is thick and heavy, strongly coiled into the shape of an elongated tower. It ends sharply at the apex, gradually widening toward the opening.

Strongly ribbed, with pronounced spiral ribs and tubercles. The color of the shell is most often yellowish, creamy or brown with irregular, darker spots and markings. The aperture (shell opening) is large, wide, oval.

The interior is smooth, often in orange, pink or reddish-brown, contrasting with the exterior surface of the shell. The outer lip is thick, sometimes wavy, often with delicate dentition.

Distinctive features—thanks to its large size and characteristic structure, it has been used in many cultures as a wind instrument (shell-trumpet).
It is valued by collectors and has significance in art and rituals. Dimensions - 130×185×375 mm. I highly recommend it to collectors and interior decorators.
