Daum Frères - Salt and pepper container set (3) - Crystal

Small crystal table saltcellars signed DAUM-FRANCE, oblong shape with 6 protrusions, slightly flared, flat base, entirely handmade with a few imperfections due to the form. From the shape, this production can be dated to the 1960s-1970s.

Two are identical and one is slightly more rounded with a small chip at the base – see photo with colored label.

Each piece bears at the base the hallmark DAUM-FRANCE followed by the Lorraine Cross – emblem of this region.

Daum crystal has existed since 1870 and is renowned worldwide for its excellence.

Reopened in 1887 after the death of their father, the two brothers Auguste and Antonin made this crystal a Grande Maison. It specialized in Table Art and also produced very fine objects of Art and Collectibles.

Over the years it has preserved its ancestral know-how while adopting contemporary tastes.
