Elegant English mahogany serving tray in Georgian Revival style

Stylishly and generously executed English tray, crafted in the characteristic Georgian Revival style and presumably dating from the first half of the 20th century.

The beautifully shaped tray features an elegant oval contour, a richly moulded and bevelled upstanding rim, and attractively integrated, curved handles. The handles are each formed from a separate piece of wood. The surrounding metal bands give the piece a refined and classic accent.

The dark, warm wood finish and traditional design give the tray a dignified appearance, clearly echoing English models from the 18th century. Its generous size makes it suitable for actual use as well as decorative display in a classical or eclectic interior.

The tray shows authentic signs of use and age. In particular, there is localized wear on the handles, where the dark finish has worn away through years of use. Additionally, there are a few small signs of wear and minor damage to the edge. These marks are in keeping with the character of the object and show that the tray has indeed been used.

The precise date of manufacture and wood type are not documented; based on style, construction, and execution, the tray is cautiously dated to circa 1925–1950.
