Description from the seller
This is an ultra-flat model or a dress watch, dating from the 1950s or early 1960s. The most fascinating feature of this piece is the dial with a concentric circle pattern (often called guilloché or textured dial), which was a hallmark of the very top class in that period.
Main Features
Dial: Very rare for its textured weave. It features small seconds (sub-dial) at 6 o'clock. The inscription "Vacheron & Constantin" (with the "&") indicates production prior to the 1970s.
Case: 18K yellow gold. The lugs are thin and classic, typical of the sober styling of the era.
Movement: It likely houses a legendary manual-wind caliber such as the K1001 or the K1002, derived from Jaeger-LeCoultre and finished to the highest standards by Vacheron.
Condition
Dial: There is some oxidation and a few stains (particularly between about 2 and 4 o'clock).
Crystal: Shows several light scratches. Being probably hesalite (plexiglass), it is easily polished or replaceable at minimal cost.
Hands: The dauphine hands appear original and coherent with the model.
Market Valuation (Estimate 2026)
The vintage Vacheron market is very solid. Given the uniqueness of the textured dial (more sought-after than plain dials):
It can exceed €8,000–€9,000; if you want to push the value higher, consult Vacheron’s archived extracts.
