Le Bertetti - Figure - Mater Soavissima n°53 - Ceramic

Refined and rare decorative sculpture in polychrome glazed ceramic depicting the Maternity/Nativity ("Mater Soavissima"), produced by the renowned Turin manufactory Le Bertetti founded by Luciana Bertetti in the 1930s.
The work depicts the Virgin Mary kneeling in adoration of the Baby Jesus laid at her feet. The Madonna's robe is finely hand-decorated with a delicate floral motif of small pink buds and green twigs, also echoed on the Baby's cradle. The facial features are stylized and elegant, recalling the typical Art Déco style and the Turin ceramic school of the period (Lenci, Essevi).

Excellent overall condition. No chips, hairlines, or obvious restorations are evident. The colors and glaze retain their original brilliance. (Please examine carefully the attached photographs, which are an integral part of the description).
