Description from the seller
In this piece we present a watch of enormous prestige and charm: a Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date in the highly sought-after emerald green color. A timepiece that combines high-end sport watchmaking with a hypnotic naturalistic design.
This watch is Montblanc's first professional diver certified (ISO 6425), but it is famous above all for its revolutionary dial. The manufacture managed to recreate the three-dimensional texture, the veins and depth of glacial ice (inspired by the Mer de Glace on Mont Blanc) through a complex and ancient artisanal technique called gratté-boisé. The deep emerald green color captures light, evoking the reflections of alpine lakes surrounded by glaciers.
The technical setup is impeccable. The 41 mm stainless steel case is topped by a unidirectional green ceramic bezel, two-tone, glossy and scratch-resistant. The watch is water resistant up to a substantial 30 ATM (300 meters) and the solid case back boasts a magnificent laser-engraved 3D depiction of a diver and an iceberg. Indices and hands are generously filled with Super-LumiNova for perfect legibility in the dark, as shown in the photographs. The heart is the automatic movement Caliber MB 24.17.
The condition is to be considered in excellent overall condition (excellent). The watch has been preserved with extreme care. The sapphire crystal and the ceramic bezel insert are pristine, without any marks. The steel case is bright and robust. On the bracelet and, particularly, on the deployant clasp, there are only extremely rare, negligible and almost imperceptible superficial hairline scratches resulting from careful handling of the object, which do not affect its beauty. The engraved case back is also perfectly clear.
