Antique mahogany and metal mobile toilette/console in the George III style, dating to 1900–1910, with three drawers, a fixed splashback, tapered square legs on brass wheels, and brass/bronze drop handles, in good overall condition from Italy.
Description from the seller
Splendid vanity unit (or entry/bedroom console) in full Georgian III style, crafted with refined artisanal mastery in the early XXth century (Edwardian period). The piece combines classical elegance and functionality, making it a versatile item for different rooms of the home.
Key Features:
Material: High-quality mahogany wood with a warm natural patina.
Fine details: The drawer fronts feature refined light-wood inlays that delineate the perimeter.
Hardware: Original drop-pull handles in bronze or burnished brass with a leaf-shaped backplate, typical of neoclassical taste.
Structure: * Top section: Equipped with a fixed raised splashback with a molded edge, ideal for resting mirrors or art objects.
Compartments: Three-drawer configuration (two small upper drawers and one large lower drawer spanning full width).
Interior: The drawers retain a charming period lining in decorative floral-patterned paper.
Supports: Square-section, slender, tapered legs ending in original brass wheels, facilitating movement.
Conditions:
The piece presents in excellent overall condition for its age. The structure is solid and the drawers slide smoothly. There are light and normal signs of time on the surface (small scratches or superficial wear) that do not compromise its aesthetics but attest to its authenticity and historic charm.
