Panserbasse Helmet
This is an original Danish police helmet (Copenhagen) from the early 20th century.
This type of leather helmet with a distinctive black crest, brass hagerem, and a prominent front emblem was worn in the period around 1890 to 1920.
Characteristics of this helmet:
Material: The helmet shell and the crest on top are made of pressed, black-lacquered cowhide leather.
Hardware: The helmet is equipped with a ridged brass storm band (hagerem) that is mounted on the sides with rosettes.
Emblem: On the front there is the brass heraldic plate with the city coat of arms of Copenhagen (recognizable by the two lions flanking the shield and the three towers).
This specific model is known among Danish collectors and on Danish auction sites (such as DBA) also under the historical nickname "Panserbasse".

Dit is een originele Deense politihelm (Kopenhagen) uit het begin van de 20e eeuw. 
Dit type lederen helm met een markante zwarte kam, messing hagerem en een prominent frontembleem werd gedragen in de periode rond 1890 tot 1920.
Kenmerken van deze helm:
Materiaal: De helmschaal en de kam bovenop zijn gemaakt van geperst en zwart gelakt rundleder.
Beslag: De helm is uitgerust met een geschubde messing stormband (hagerem) die aan de zijkanten is bevestigd met rozetten.
Embleem: Op de voorzijde bevindt zich de messing heraldische plaat met het stadswapen van Kopenhagen (herkenbaar aan de twee leeuwen die het schild flankeren en de drie torens).
Dit specifieke model staat onder Deense verzamelaars en op Deense veilingsites (zoals DBA) ook wel bekend onder de historische bijnaam "Panserbasse".
