Description from the seller

Very handsome antique French Portico Empire pendulum dating from the early 19th century.

This impressive yet compact fire-gilded bronze pendulum is a splendid example of the Empire style and is characterized by rich neoclassical motifs.

The clock is flanked by Egyptian caryatids that function as columns and is crowned by a majestic eagle, a beloved symbol from the Napoleonic era.

Furthermore the pendulum is richly decorated with sphinxes, a pendulum in the shape of a sun, and a finely worked base with elegant swans, which give the whole a monumental and harmonious appearance.

This clock is in excellent condition and measures 38 cm high x 21 cm wide x 13 cm deep.

All our clocks have been fully overhauled and are in excellent condition. Of course they run properly and are supplied complete with pendulum, key, and our guarantee of good operation.
