Circa 2000 BC.
Very rare piece
The Sun and the Horizon: The Mesopotamian worldview attributed deep significance to the horizon – the place where the sun rises and sets. Although the Egyptian concept of the god Aker (two lions guarding the setting and rising sun) is better known, Persian and Mesopotamian traditions also knew the regal symbolism of the lion in combination with sun traditions.
