European school (XVII) - Santa Martir

it represents a holy martyr, recognizable by the palm of martyrdom, the halo, and the courtly attire. The composition and, above all, the handling of the face, the hands, the drapery, and the background landscape point to a painting of Italian or Hispano-Italian tradition.

My initial dating, based solely on photographs, would be the 17th century, possibly around 1600–1650; the frame isn't an issue—it's a gift.
